A nonprofit dear to my heart, Safe & Sound Schools: A Sandy Hook Initiative, has asked me to lead a portion of their annual board retreat in Boston. I'm thrilled and excited to be able to engage the group through creative writing and hands-on, group art-making experiences. My role at the retreat will be to guide trustees towards a deeper immersion in the vision and values of the mission of the organization so that they can be empowered to:

• Become an even more productive working group
• Carry out their responsibilities effectively
• Develop an even deeper understanding of each other and their powerful mission 

The end goal is to have individual boards members that feel even more connected, invested, and involved in their important mission—to empower communities nationally to join hands, hearts, and minds to make schools safer.
